Women Should Vote for Sex Attacker Trump Because…

Over decades, powerful property tycoon and TV star Donald ‘grab them by the pussy’ Trump, has been accused of multiple sexual offences by dozens of women.

The US legal system is often the enemy of justice, because money counts more than anything. As a result, rich offenders can bury criminal charges through a number of means. These include paying compensation to victims via civil law mechanisms, to avoid criminal trials, and using expensive lawyers to delay proceedings.

This latter reality, coupled with the fact that, in most states, there are statutes of limitation for sexual assault of between three and ten years, means many women and girls never see justice done.

This reality makes agreeing to civil settlements more likely, even though sex attackers not being recognised as such by criminal courts is clearly nauseating for both victims and society. It also creates particular dangers when men who buy their way out of rape and abuse charges have children.

With his current level of cognitive dysfunction, it might be hard to imagine that Donald Trump was ever sharp enough to consistently exploit the law, the way he has people. But it’s important to remember that sexual offence allegations against Trump span decades, to at least the 1970s, when the rich, young Vietnam War draft-dodging socialite was in his prime.

Trump’s abuse of the courts to destroy people in business is legendary but settlements to bury sexual attack cases have hidden many of the details.

The known facts

Despite payoffs and non-disclosure agreements, we do have some information about the sexual offence allegations against Trump.

At least 26 women, at least one of whom was a child at the time of the alleged offences, have made allegations of a variety of offences, including rape and other sexual attacks. He had also been repeatedly accused of sexual harassment, including non-consensual kissing and groping (which many of us would also now deem sexual assaults).

A key issue that drives men like Trump is power. As he himself has said, his power, status and fame has given him the sense of entitlement to sexually accost women, with little expectation of conviction.

Reasons why women should vote to Trump anyway

The headline for this article is ‘Women Should Vote for Sex Attacker Trump Because’. I must admit that I haven’t yet thought of any GOOD reasons.

I realise that there are certain groups in Trump’s ‘base’ who would vote for him regardless of what he’s done — as polling since his dozens of convictions for other crimes testify. These core groups include white supremacists and conspiracy theorists that resemble deluded cult members more than rational, informed voters. A Venn diagram of those groups would overlap significantly.

Medium allows authors to return to articles to add material. I will wrack my brain but for the life of me I can’t think of any GOOD reasons why any woman (or man for that matter) would vote for a lying, fraudulent, remorseless sex offender like Trump.

It’s likely I will never think of a GOOD reason why women (or any non-fascist, non-cultists) should vote for Donald Trump. If you can think of any, then please let me know in the comments below or on Twitter. But, if you are equally stumped, then share this with any MAGA folk you encounter on social media and get them to use the following hashtag: #WomenShouldVoteTrumpBecause
