In ‘Defence’ of Boris Johnson — By a Non-Tory

There is a shady establishment spectre sabotaging Boris Johnson and his career — and I am going to expose them in this article! I might lose friends over this, but so be it — the truth is more important!

There’s a strong sense that Boris Johnson was destined to be prime minister from an early age, as though his accent, tone, attitude and view of citizens and other countries made him perfect for the role. Or the role perfect for his huge ambition. But actually, he was slumming it when he graced Downing Street with his presence, as his childhood ambition was to be King of the World.

That said, he feels he’s got more to give, and being pushed out of power by his own treacherous party a short while into his term clearly infuriates the effortlessly natural leader, who has spent much of his life trying desperately to ape Winston Churchill. He was meant to stay in office for longer than Thatcher, not be out the door quicker than a betrayed partner.

Sure, things didn’t go so well during his time in office — he had that pesky covid to contend with, which hindered his right-wing agenda and made him look like some kind of socialist, by putting public wellbeing above the God-given right of rich…
